On 23rd July, Mr. Xu Zhengbing, Economic and Commercial Counsellor of the Chinese Embassy, attended the seminar on China and the Changing Landscape of the World Economy co-organized by Confucius Institute and Irish Institute for Chinese Studies at University College Dublin (UCD) and Chinese Economic Association (Europe). He delivered a speech at the opening ceremony of the conference elaborating China’s Reform and Opening-up Policy, measures taken by the Chinese Government in coping with international economic crisis and the opportunity thereof for the world economy. The seminar attracted over 200 experts and scholars from universities and institutes in China, U.S., UK, etc. Keynote speakers included renowned economists such as Professor Hai Wen of Peking University, Professor Cui Zhiyuan of Tsinghua University, Professor Nicholas Lardy of Peterson Institute for International Economics, Professor Robert Gordon of North-western University of America and Professor Thomas Rawski of University of Pittsburgh, Mr. Gao Feng, Attaché in the Economic and Commercial Counsellor’s Office, joined the function. |
